Image is everything; no matter how much we try to refute it. This is just as true regards web page design, as it is the design of our clothes. As more and more of us join the Twitter family of micro-bloggers, selecting the right backgrounds for Twitter is becoming increasingly important.

Possibly the easiest way to set your background is simply uploading an image directly from your computer. Head for the settings page, (really not hard to find), and select Design / Change Background Image.

You can select to have your image used in a single shot, which will be modified to take up the entire page. Alternatively, you can tile the image. Which option you choose will be based on your own judgment of course, though it should also be driven by picture quality.

Other areas of your background can also be modified; including the sidebar, whilst your color scheme can also be amended to make things more corporate, (complete with your logo), if you are using Twitter as a business tool.
