i call myself a person who has 2 lifes… seriously! i spend too much time on my pc, around 5-6 hours, and sometimes, a day. its like a drug, if i spend a day without my pc, i get really annoyed and pissed… in real life I’m a really “educated” person, in the “Grid”, i swear a lot, im totally diferent. @JonnMcNally This topic is basically like what happened with the types of interfaces that Hard drives switched to. You can hardly buy a 40 pin ribbon cable (PATA) hard drive anymore, they’ve all gone to SATA style. The same will happen to the hard drive architecture as well. In a few years, you won’t be able to buy a magnetic Disk HDD anymore, they are switching over to Solid States which IMO are rather dependable and should last several years more than regular HDDs

@dunkhi if we had memory like a hard drive it would fail in 2 years or so…. how about a solid state drive.

Yup we are slowly getting to the point where i am starting to feel very nervous. Singularity, absolutely amazing, but terrifying. What will happen? maybe an A.I take over where they try to push the human species into extinction? another step in evolution maybe. or will things go as plan and live another life like never before. be able to have eyes like a camera lens or have memory like a hard drive. I VOTE FOR THE SECOND ON

This just shows how ignorant many are, when they think the internet can “Shut down”. If there are two computers, and you can connect them, then you can build a computer network. You can have a wireless network of 10, 100, or 1000 computers on their own version of the internet without any outside assistance. Any computer can be a server with a wifi router. As long as there is one person who knows how to network one computer to another, the “internet” will never go away.
