Every Girl Is Beautiful / Self-Esteem PSA Video. Ad about young girls and new self-esteem fund. Producer: Dove. Creative Commons license: Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike Young girls talk about body image and self esteem. Dove’s message: Things won’t change until we change them. The Dove Self-Esteem Fund. Whether it’s models that wear a size 2 or movie stars with exceptional curves, beauty pressures are everywhere. And when young girls find it hard to keep up, low self-esteem can take over and lead to introversion, a withdrawal from normal life, and a waste of potential. For example, a recent survey in the United Kingdom indicated that 6 out of 10 girls thought they’d “be happier if they were thinner.” Low self-esteem leads to introversion, a withdrawal from normal life and a waste of potential. For too long, beauty has been defined by narrow, stifling stereotypes. Women have told us it’s time to change all that. Dove agrees. We believe real beauty comes in many shapes, sizes and ages. That is why Dove is launching the Campaign for Real Beauty. Dove’s global Campaign for Real Beauty aims to change the status quo and offer in its place a broader, healthier, more democratic view of beauty. A view of beauty that all women can own and enjoy everyday. Over 50% of women say their body disgusts them (Dove Internal Study, 2002). The body fat of models and actresses portrayed in the media is at least 10% less than that of healthy women (British Medical Association, 2000) 6 out

I like what Dove is doing. Instead of only money making over people’s backs and health they take the more idealistic route. I wish more companies had the balls and honesty to do the same. I have made a same sort of video called ‘Yourself’ wich is also made to give a message of self worth and accepting yourself.

but don’t do that, girls… Please. Don’t do it. because allot of guys out there don’t want to put up with this senseless bullshit and you’re going to push us away. Just like girly, clingy, bitchy guys who have no backbone usually push most girls away. It’s unattractive and it only makes things worse for the both of you.

completely useless In every imaginable way. There isn’t a day that goes by where I don’t feel insignificant and unable to help someone, my fucking girlfriend of all things. My attraction to her is what made me go after her 3+ years ago. I’m just saying… it’s very stressful. And it kills me how much dedication it takes. but I want to make a difference, I want to make her happy, she’s an amazing person and deserves a good person. I want to be there for her.

Any girl who reads this, please, I need you to understand. beating yourself up, denying your own unique beauty, starving yourself, cutting, being depressed over how you “think” you look, in your own mind, you should realize these things make you LESS attractive. And I for one wouldn’t choose to be in a relationship or any part of someone who is so down that it brings me down. I’m currently in a relationship like that, and I feel like I can’t help my girl at all. makes me feel

All I can do is be honest here. If I tell you you look good, then I think you look good. I wouldn’t say anything I’m not serious about. It makes me sick being surrounded by people who think they have problems. I’ve never met a girl who was happy with herself in my life. girls with self-esteem don’t exist anymore. and if they do, I haven’t met them yet. And it’s always the nice girls who are reasonably attractive and are good people. but they don’t realize that they segregate themselves.

The thing I dont like is how everyone says to appreciate all body types, but then they go around and say how unhealthy is it to be skinny. I’ve got the skinniest twiggy calves, which I really don’t like, but it’s sooo hard for me to change that, no matter how much I work out. I wish so bad I had nicer calves!

@markee871 I don’t think it has anything to do with gay men. Every gay man I know is so accepting of women for who they are, fat, skinny, curvy, or whatever else. Truly women didn’t even think it was sexy to be tall and skinny until models came about which happened in the 50s when clothing designers used women starved and near death as hangers for their clothes because people were paying too much attention to the movie stars and not their clothing line. Then women decided that was the look.

@risycat ok kim kardashian is your height, shakira, jessica simpson, vida guerra, renata frisson, carmen electra, cristina milian, jennifer love hewitt.ETC..are these women ugly? nooo, actually most beautiful women arent tall, women arent meant to be giants. I know a girl who is 5’11″ and envies girls who are not tall. in some countries 5’3″ is tall. fat? lol i doubt u are, plus women are meant to be curvy(CURVY ISNT FAT,curvy is like beyonce, latina, arab, italian, armenian). I doubt your fat.
